The social media revolution represents the breaking of the fundamental equation that marries information to distribution.
Broadband internet access and the actual social media/networking tools mean that information is free and can now flow between individuals reaching the masses, without any form of institutionalised intervention, except the provision of a freely available technological infrastructure.
Power is shifting away from newspapers and ads into new community processes of information and social networks.
